We all know that adrenalin rush we get when we win something, but imagine what your life would be like if you jeopardized your emotional and financial well-being because you were constantly chasing that “winning” feeling. Compulsive gamblers do just that. They are unable to control their desire to gamble because they have what is technically classified as an impulse-control disorder. Without treatment, it is a serious problem that can destroy lives. A recovery term for quitting gambling is to “stay off the bet,” but as many recovering gamblers will tell you, “It’s easier said then done.” Luckily, recent findings in neuroplasticity research, the brain’s ability to make changes through learning, may hold some answers. The brain has a remarkable ability to re-wire itself when provided with the right kind of stimulation which is providing hope for many people who are suffering with addictions.

"When we have a good player out, especially one of our main guys, I think it's important that we depend on each other," Prince said.

76ers get rare win at Phoenix, 119-114 (AP) - That Shaquille O'Neal deal isn't working out too well so far for Phoenix. Andre Iguodala scored 32 points, and the Philadelphia 76ers held on to beat the Suns in Phoenix for the first time in six years, 119-114 on Saturday night. Andre Miller added 25 points and 12 assists for the 76ers, who shot 57 percent after being blown out at Golden State 119-97 on Friday night.

Yao opts for surgery on broken foot (AP) - Yao Ming will have surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot, Houston Rockets officials said Saturday. The surgery will be performed Monday in Houston by Rockets team doctor Tom Clanton. The team announced the All-Star center's injury on Tuesday and said he would get a second opinion before deciding whether to have the surgery.
